Career
Alexandra had her first solo exhibition at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Los Angeles in 2007. Her artwork titled “From and About Place: Art from Los Angeles” joined a multi-artist sow in Tel Aviv in 2008.
Described as a radical collaboration, Grant pioneered the writer of hypertext fiction, Michael Joyce. She used these paintings and sculptures as scores or scripts to interpret. The three series of such transcriptions were “ Ladder Quartel, shown at MOCA in 2007, Six Portals, shown at Honor Fraser Gallery in 2008 and Bodies, shown at Honor Fraser Gallery in 2010.”
In 2008, Alexandra participated in Edgar Arceneaux’s Watts House project. However, Grant’s plan to build her ‘Love House’ with her brand logo ‘LOVE” over the house was not successful apparently.
She is still raising funds to complete her Love House although she resigned from the project. Grant has worked as a professor from 2009 to 2011. She published her first artist book in 2009 in collaboration with Keanu Reeves.
